Finished! I could not be happier with how my clay box turned out. The red waves define the form and show off the precise curves of the box's edges. The inside and lower half are glazed white.

The spooky tree drawing was very fun to create and easy to do on the iPad. To create the drawing I used the iPad app Sketchbook Xpress. I used different brush sizes and opacities along with varying shades of the same color to create a scene with a foreground, background, and two middle ground layers. I used complimentary colors blue and golden yellow to make an interesting contrast. The tire swing was to create some interest and adds an eerie feel to the image.

We have been working on our clay projects. We made cups and firm slab boxes and pinch pot sculptures. We used high firing clay, sculpting tools, and slip. My favorite on to make was the pinch pot sculpture because I could express myself the most, and there were the least amount of rules. I learned how to sculpt. The art element used were sculpting, bonding two surfaces.

Today in class we were working on our landscape chalk drawings. Getting close, still need to add the pine tree, road, and final touches.
